Editorial policy
Last updated:
In decisions about going abroad, a single wrong figure can be costly. These are the rules we follow for everything we publish.
Sources
- Official sources first: for visas, fees and rules we rely on government immigration websites, embassies, and the official sites of universities and banks.
- Linked sources: wherever we give a figure or a rule, we link its source so you can check it yourself.
- No hearsay: we do not publish claims from forums, social media or agents as fact.
Freshness
- Every guide and tool shows a “last checked” date.
- When visa or immigration rules change, the affected pages are updated as soon as possible.
- Figures such as fees and rates are re-checked at regular intervals.
Our use of AI
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and translation. No fact, figure or rule is published without being matched against an official source and checked by the editor. Answers from any AI assistant on this site will be clearly labelled as AI-generated.
Independence
- No university, bank or agent can pay to change our view or our rankings.
- Partner and affiliate links are clearly labelled. Details are on How we make money.
- We do not reorder comparisons to put the option that pays us more on top.
What we will never do
- Claim a guaranteed visa, admission or job
- Recommend a recruiting agent who is not registered with the government
- Promote a suspicious or fake university, degree or job offer
When we get it wrong
If you see something wrong or out of date, write to contact@askabroadguru.com. We check it and correct it, and for significant corrections we note on the page what changed.
